"This hefty coffee table tome traces the history of what Oscar Wilde termed, "the love that dare not speak its name" as it relates to the history of civilization. • I first encountered this book while in grad school in the art library, and loved looking at all of the great art, poetry and prose of the past that was influenced by male same-sex desire and love. The reprint is good, but decided to get a copy of the original edition due to the better paper and print quality. Excellent book, well edited and well made.

  • I bought this for an art lover and he was very impressed. I don't a lot about art, but apparently this is a hard to find gem.
